About Chu Cho

Our Origin and Purpose

Chu Cho Forestry takes immense pride in its roots as a forest management company wholly owned by the Tsay Keh Dene Nation. Since our inception in 2017, we have been driven by a dual mission: to effectively manage Tsay Keh Dene's forestry tenures and foster economic growth while upholding our community's values and traditions.

Empowering Our Community

We are committed to making a positive impact within Tsay Keh Dene Territory. Through our strategic partnerships, we have gained greater control over our tenures, resulting in larger returns that benefit the Tsay Keh Dene community. Creating meaningful employment opportunities is at the core of our efforts to uplift our people and promote sustainable development.

Strategic Partnerships for Growth

Recognizing the need for sustainable expansion, we actively sought partnerships with like-minded organizations. In 2021, we formed a joint venture with KDL Resource Management, giving rise to Finlay Forest Management. This collaboration enables us to specialize in full phase development and provide comprehensive management solutions for diverse projects.

Balancing Revenue and Environmental Values

At Chu Cho Forestry, we believe that economic prosperity should not come at the expense of our environment. Through our partnership with Finlay Forest Management, we strive to strike the delicate balance between generating income and respecting Tsay Keh Dene's deep-rooted environmental values. Our aim is to create a vibrant and sustainable future for all.

Commitment to Stewardship

We are dedicated to responsible forest management and community engagement. Our unwavering commitment to preserving the pristine beauty of our territory is ingrained in everything we do. We envision a future where sustainability and success go hand in hand, paving the way for a brighter tomorrow for Tsay Keh Dene.

With the support of our partners and the resilience of our community, we march steadfastly towards this vision of a flourishing and harmonious future.
